Best Western Linton Lodge Hotel is an ideal venue for your wedding, set in one and a half acres of manicured garden.

Our chefs are able to cater for many different tastes and ideas and we can produce an individual menu just for you.
Linton Lodge Hotel is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. We have 2 tastefully decorated suites and can accommodate from a minimum of 10 guests up to 100 guests for larger ceremonies.We offer the complete wedding package which include room hire and set up costs. Ceremony only prices are available on request. Flowers and live music can be arranged for an additional cost. For more information, please contact us.Here is a step by step guide to holding your wedding ceremony at the Linton Lodge Hotel.Step 1:Book your chosen date and time for your ceremony. The chosen date will then be placed on a provisional hold until you have booked the registrar. Step 2:Contact the superintendent registrar, Cheryl Eva, the Oxford registrars office on 01865 815167. The office is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.30pm. Step 3:Book the registration staff to conduct the ceremony by immediately telephoning the superintendent registrar on the above number. This will ensure that they are available to conduct your ceremony. At this time you will be given the name and telephone number of the superintendent registrar of the district in which you live. Step 4:Make an appointment with the superintendent registrar of the district in which you live to complete the legal documentation of the marriage. The timing is crucial at this point and you will be given either a provisional booking form which gives you full details or advice at the time of booking the registration staff in step 3. Step 5:Confirm your booking with the Best Western Linton Lodge Hotel. We require a deposit of £200.00 to confirm wedding bookings. Step 6:Just before the wedding, arrange an appointment with the superintendent registrar who will be conducting your marriage, to finalise your ceremony. Music, poetry and additional promises are things you may wish to consider.
The receiving line:
Bride's motherThe bride's mother is traditionally in charge of all the proceedings. She decides on the guest list together with the bridegroom's mother and the venue for the reception. She handles any catering arrangements and ensures the wedding cake is ready.After the wedding ceremony, the bride's mother and father, together with the bride and groom and his parents, greet the guests at the reception.
Bride's fatherThe father gives the bride away. He receives guests at the wedding reception. He pays for the wedding dress, bridesmaid's dresses, car (except groom's), photographs, church and reception flowers, invitations and press announcements (if any).
BrideThe bride selects the type of service. She decides on her dress and bridesmaid's attire.
Bridegroom The bridegroom selects the best man and ushers (if any). He buys the ring and pays the church fees. He can also buy presents for the bridesmaids, best man and ushers as a gesture of gratitude for their help. He buys flowers for his bride, bride's mother, his own mother, bridesmaids, and button holes for himself and the best man. He arranges and pays for transport for himself and the best man and for the bride and himself after the wedding.

Bridesmaids - optionalShe assists the bride to dress, holds the bouquet during the ceremony and organises other bridesmaids.
Best man - optionalHe keeps the ring and ensures the bridegroom gets to the church on time. He pays the church fees on behalf of the bridegroom. He checks and ensures transport for all guests to the reception and that travel arrangements for the honeymoon are in order. At the reception it is the best man's honour to read any congratulatory telegrams.

Toast to the bride and groom:This is normally proposed by the bride's father or a close relative of friend of the family.
Toast to the bridesmaids:This is always proposed by the bridegroom, following his response to the first toast.The best man would then respond to the bridegroom's speech on behalf of the other bridesmaids. He would also read the telegrams to the guests.
Cutting the cake:The cutting of the cake is announced by the toastmaster or best man. After the first slice has been cut by the bride and groom the bottom tire is then cut into slices for the guests.
